Together with our state affiliate, the NC Association of Educators, we have won A LOT in the last 6 months. Since last March we have helped to win hazard pay for classified workers, state emergency leave, and safety guidelines for School Nutrition Staff. Then, over the summer, we went on to win Plan C (remote learning) in over 60 NC school districts.
Our organizational unity and collective voice are working for us. We need to build upon our work from the spring and summer to help keep all of us safe and ensure that any return to in person instruction is rooted in clear science-based standards.
